TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on how to invite their girlfriend from Thailand to Norway, specifically regarding visa documentation. Contributions from others highlighted the necessity of financial support from the sponsor, bank statements, proof of accommodation, and evidence that the girlfriend has a reason to return to Thailand (e.g., property, job, family ties). It's suggested that an invitation letter may help but that mutual funds should also be present in her account to support her application. Sharing experiences, another user recommended transferring funds into her account shortly before applying for the visa to meet embassy requirements.

My parents invite my gf to visit denmark every year (I live in thailand) but the Danish embassy still require money in her account. We just transfer to her account a week or 2 before we go apply for her visa, and never had any problems.

Good luck if she doesn’t have money in the bank, you will have to mention you will be responsible for her. Show your bank statements & income. (10K euro should be fine).

Even you show this she will have to most likely proof also that she has a reason to return to her country. (Property, School, Job,.. ) since apparently hasn’t any income it will be difficult. if you are around the age of 20-30y old they will be afraid she won’t return & stay without valid reason to return).

Safer you stay out of it, deposit every month money in her bank account for like 3-6 months long so she can apply independently for her tourist visa. Otherwise it will raise a lot of red flags.. chances are small. Once rejected a second application might be even more difficult. Or she should apply for a tourist visa through a group tour travel, might work.

I’ve had two schengen visa for my girlfriend previously to visit Germany. I had to show 3 months wage slips, make a declaration that I would support her financially for the full three months. I had to get health insurance for her. I also had to prove that my accommodation was suitable for her to stay i.e. big enough. But the most important proof was proving she has a real reason to return to Thailand, e.g. house owner, return for job, have child etc. This is where most have difficulty. Check what Norway requires to issue a schengen, it should be uniform across the member states. I sent all my documents recorded delivery to my then girlfriend and she attended the German Embassy in Bangkok for interview and the next day the visa was issued. Just my experience, others may be different. Hope it works out for you.
