TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired whether their Thai friend could travel to Finland with a tourist visa if they provided an invitation. Responses indicate that a tourist visa is needed, and while it might be challenging for Thai nationals to gain approval unless they meet certain criteria (like marriage or financial means), it is possible. Suggestions included checking proper visa channels, considering alternate Schengen countries for easier visa acquisition, and joining related support groups for updates on travel regulations.

If she's a brass it can be tricky, however if she's got a proper job, say
****
and pays tax then its a lot easier

You can also join the “Love Is Not Tourism - Finland” group and check the posts there. I was a member last year when covid started and there was good info back then. Not a member any more though (I moved to Indonesia)

Easier for you to go to Thailand. Even under normal conditions, it’s not easy for a Thai to visit Finland if you are not married (or if she is not rich). (I am a Finnish citizen also, Canadian-Finn). Or getting her to come through another Schengen country, like Holland, might be easier.

ja

Want Nederland heeft beperkingen .

Geen lockdown

Enkele landen daar gelaten kan iedereen relatief eenvoudig in en uit reizen

There's also a special rule for people in a long distance relationship. If you can prove that through entry stamps in your passport and photos together you'll be able to get a visa.
