Any suggestion on the digital wallet for paying I’ve tried to download Truman and it won’t allow a US area code and phone number to enter an account.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To use a digital wallet in Thailand, you generally need a Thai bank account. For instance, TrueMoney does not support foreign phone numbers and requires a long-term visa and possibly a Thai driver's license to register. Apps from banks like Bangkok Bank are available but may also require a Thai account.

You have to get a Thai bank account and the app for that bank. True Money will not work with a foreign number and you also need to have a long-term visa and possibly even a Thai drivers license to register for True Money.
