Hi there,

I am from Singapore and currently working remotely. I had read online below required documents.

1. Valid passport

2. Financial proof of 500,000 Thai bth in bank

3. Proof of residency

4. Letter from employer indicating that you are able to work remotely.

May I check, what are the details needed to be written in the employer letter to prove that you are able to work remotely? Also, which country did you all applied in and which agent charges a decent rates with high application approval rates?

Would below details will be sufficient and signed by head of department?

This letter is to certify that xxxx employee is being employed as a sales coordinator since 2022 and had been working remotely since being employed. He may work remotely in Thailand during his working hours.

Dude. Just go to the embassy of Thailand in Singapore to apply. Don’t need agent

You can skip an agent & apply yourself directly in Singapore. Just truthfully/clearly fulfill all requirement spelt out in the embassy's website.

1. Monthly bank statement showing income.

2. Your company's registration in Sg.

3. You need to provide a Thai address (which u plan to stay when in Thailand).

4. Job contract describing your line of work, proofs showing/describing how you conduct your job assignments remotely.

5. Give your reasons or plans why & how you wish to spend time in Thailand.

The rest are already mentioned by ppl here. Good luck

need a job contract stating all your job descriptions?

And for pointer 5 is it really necessary?

Fernnie2540 Describing the job helps them 'see' that it is truly 'remote' without being tied to a desk/location. Point #5 can be a cover letter where you introduce yrself & sing 'praises' for Thailand. It is something addition to build a stronger application. I got mine & dependent's a year ago... all solid paperwork with no grey gaps to reject

For me they wanted it (contract) said "remote work in thailand" not only remote work. I also had to provide latest payslips. Finland august 2024

my employment contract is signed by the director. But if the letter is endorsed by H.O.D, does it clash with it?

i might even be able to have, since the customer is in contract with the company in finland, not directly to me? Maybe gray area. Maybe need to find out how it is, interesting....

@Toni ******
Some embassies will ask for such a statement if not received. As with many other things it is embassy specific. Singapore is among the strictest so better to include it to avoid a delay in approval.

i understand that, but "you" dont, only the company does, its different if the company is you like a youtuber or so, thats why im thinking its a gray zone... i sent siam legal an email about this

i wonder how some remote helpdesk worker would know where

is from :) well, can always say "of course not" in the application

ok, so that is fine to do. Many DTVERS have a company connection to Thailand but the rule is you promise not to engage in any business activity when there with a Thai firm/client

no, nothing in thailand. But if we think the bigger picture, would the biggesr companies in the world be cut out of dtv, because they have?

I think no about answering VOIP from Thailand within Thailand going by my interview. They emphasized to me about no calls while in Thailand.

not revealing my job but lets say microsoft customer service, could they answer VoIP calls from thailand if they are currently in thailand? I think yes 😝 got my point? I just never thought it like this but if its by the rules it opens a lot of opportunities for me. In the example its company abroad providing the service not the remote employee in thailand
