TLDR : Answer Summary
To travel back to Thailand, you should get your PCR test within a 72-hour window before your first international flight. Many recommend getting tested the day before your flight to ensure you receive the test result and certificate in time. Be sure to consider the time zone differences if your flight has connecting stops.

From most posts here the consensus is that you need a result within 72 hours of your first international flight. So for if example you were flying LAX/JFK/BKK the time 72 hours would start from JFK

Day before would be fine. Questionable whether 72 hours before check in, or flight time. I don’t know the answer to that one.
