I have a question regarding terminating a visa. I’m on student visa and planning to leave Thailand before it expires. I read somewhere that I’ll have 24 hours to leave the country after terminating the visa. Is it possible to do that at the airport? And can I do that at a different immigration office or does it have to be done by the office that provided the stamp?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To terminate a student visa in Thailand, you must obtain a letter from your school stating the end date of your studies, adding an extra week to that date. You need to visit the Thai immigration office that issued your visa stamp to request the cancellation. It is crucial to leave the country by the approved date given by immigration.

I'm assuming that you are on one of the Ed Visa extensions of stay.

You MUST get a letter from your School which states the date you will have ended your study.

Have the school add a week to that date.

Take it to the Thai Immigration office which ISSUED you the Ed Visa STAMP.

Request it be cancelled on the date specified in the Ed school letter.

They will cancel it on that date.

You MUST leave Thailand on or before the date approved by Thai Immigration.
