TLDR : Answer Summary
To register your stay in Buriram with immigration, you need to fill out a Form TM30 within 24 hours of your arrival. This form requires copies of the owner's ID and the house registration book, both signed by the owner. If you were not registered for one night while on a bus, there is a risk of fines for both you and the property owner, depending on enforcement by local immigration authorities. If you cannot reach an immigration office, you might consider going to a local police station. Additionally, some suggest booking a hotel as they are responsible for reporting your stay. Overall, ensure you complete this registration to avoid issues with immigration, especially if you plan to extend your stay.

And as registration of address is not Thai Visa related,I will close the commenting. As we know it has te be done within 24 hours and depending on the enforcement of the Immigration Office people can be fined for not doing this.

IF you’re very concerned you could book a room in a local hotel and then they are responsible for reporting your stay.

it doesn't matter how short, if it's only one night. Legally, he still needs to be registered. Practically, yes it does not matter. But according to the law, he must be registered within 24 hours.

Only a suggestion if it’s a short trip.

If he’s moving there permanently the. He needs to go him self.

That does not erase the legal responsibility for registering him in the other places he was when he was there. It may well resolve any practical issues with immigration come extension time but he still needs to be registered somewhere for every night he stays in Thailand.

no one knows when you got there but you. if you are not close to an imnmigration office, go do it at your local police station and make sure they sign and give you the receipt at the bottom of the form

To help to explain the family, it is in Thai and English:

Some immigration offices need this done before you need to deal with them for an extension, etc. As a practical matter, IF it is an office that cares, as long as you get it done before you need to go to them for something else, you will be OK. As a strictly legal matter, it needs to be done within 24 hours.

The owner of the house will also be fined

It’s only one Fine of 1,600.-

It should be paid by the home owner, but good luck with that.
