There were 2 holidays during my dependentβs submission. All in all, they are consistent in their timeframe of 7 working days for both our applications.
Documents provided:
Proof of location
-Boarding pass
-Flight booking
-Hotel booking for initial 5 days
-Stay permit from the autogates
-a selfie of myself in front of our hotel
Financial proof
- a cover letter explaining very briefly what I provided
- latest conversion rates from google, bangkok bank and wise
- highlighted screenshot of current balance and amount of 500k for the past 2 months. I provided 3 months of full bank statements
Muay Thai documents
- a cover letter stating my intention to apply via the softpower route
- a complete visa documentation package from Muay Thai Fever. It is a 6-month course.
For my son (dependent), I used the exact same financial documents with a sponsorship letter from me, his proof of location and his birth certificate translated to English.
I did call up the embassy a couple of times to check on our applications as the status remained unchanged. They were very friendly and assured me I will get updates soonest they can. They process everything by the date of submission.
HUGE thanks to everyone in this group especially Andi Traveller ππΌ
The waiting is hard, so weβre all very fortunate to have this group to keep us in the loop and entertained too! Good luck everyone!!

The author shares their and their son's successful DTV visa application experiences in Jakarta, highlighting the timeline and necessary documents. The main applicant's visa was approved on May 27th, with the dependent's visa following shortly after on June 9th. Key documents included proof of location, financial proof, Muay Thai-related documents, and a translated birth certificate for the dependent. The embassy was responsive to queries during the waiting period, and the author expresses gratitude to the community for support.
You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight βοΈ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.
Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
