TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation addresses the process for obtaining a retirement visa in Thailand, specifically the Non-O visa, which allows for a 15 month stay. Suggestions include contacting local visa agents, especially in Pattaya where services are commonly advertised, and the importance of opening a bank account to facilitate the visa process. It also highlights the option to apply for the 90-day Non-O visa before traveling to Thailand and suggests that applying for the visa outside Thailand may be cheaper and easier.

You can get your 90 day Non-O before travelling to Thailand then open a bank account to transfer your funds to apply for your 12 month extension during the last few weeks of your entry stamp. Stay legal :)

Pattaya is chock full of agents that do this every day. There are a few in Bangkok but they tend to be more expensive.

It would help if you indicated WHERE you are looking for an agent.

I done it myself no agent, total 1 hour in both queues, all docs correct, fee 3500b for multi entry, + 800k in kasikorn bank, letter from bank 200b with statement showing 2 month maturity, including 100b transaction history on the day of application.

Saved about 5k if not using agent.
