TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has opened a bank account in Bangkok and plans to transfer 65,000 baht monthly from a Wise account. They seek advice on using these transfers to meet immigration criteria for a retirement visa application. Comments indicate that to qualify for a Non-O visa based on retirement, one generally needs to show 12 months of consistent international transfers into a Thai bank account. Additionally, selecting the correct reference for long-term stay in the transfer process is recommended.

Okay, I have NEVER seen ANY immigration office in the country issue a 90 day Non-O visa based on retirement without 12 months of previous incoming international transfers.

I know that the police order states that leniency and/or leeway should be given in the case of the first Non-O visa/extension BUT I have not seen nor heard of a verified case where that has happened.

Select the bottom option "for long term stay in Thailand" that will mark it as an international transfer, which is what is required

It’s 12 months by the month method of banking ฿

each month.

Make sure your select the right reason in the Wise application right at the bottom of the selections. It just makes it a lot easier when you have to get all the info from your BB account for your immigration application appointment

and what is that right reason one should choose?

I hope that helps and it does make it a lot easier this way when you go to Bangkok Bank for the paperwork for immigration. In other words it is tagged with a code for that reason alone. Far far less complicated as tagged code on your statements from BB will show this.

the bottom reason? You mean the last one in a list? I still dont understand, apologies. Could you screenshot maybe?

OK people are confusing the questions you are asking. From what I understand from your post you’ve basically asked two questions which is transferring international monthly income to meet retirement Extension of Stay requirements is 12 monthly payments into a Thai bank account in your name only. This has to be before you apply. All 12 months. Under monthly income criteria.

Other Q was right reason for transfer. I presume again you are asking what to select on the Wise Application. Answer is : With WISE and the transfer select the reason for transferring money as ‘Funds for long term stay in Thailand’ it’s the very last option. That’s it the question you’ve asked have been answered correctly in this post a good few times now. Hoping you understand now.

it’s the bottom reason for sending money in the WISE app

Do you already have a Non-O visa for the purposes of retirement? If not these that is your first step. You can obtain this visa inside Thailand but you must transfer into a Thai bank 800k BAHT from overseas before you apply. Not all immigration offices do this visa so check with your local office first

Okay, to make it clear:

Above monthly income method is needed for an Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age also known as a retirement visa.

You need banked money to apply for a conversion of your Visa Exempt Entry or Tourist Visa into a Non Immigrant O visa based on being over 50 years of age also known as a retirement visa.

Question stays, what are you planning to do?

If your country does not provide the income affidavit, you must proof every month for at least 12 months prior your application date a foreign deposit of minimum 65.000 Thb into a Thai bank account on your name only.

Which do you mean with "a retirement visa application"?

Are you seeing the in-country Non-O based on being over 50 from your tourist stamp?

Or you are applying for a one-year extension based on over 50?

Then which immigration office do you use?
