What are the requirements for applying for a Dtv visa in Thailand for soft power courses like Muay Thai or cooking?

I want to apply for Dtv visa, Soft power muay thai or cooking course.

My question is if the course has to have a minimum lenght to be accepted.

I'm still not sure whether to live in Phuket or Koh Samui, and what would be the exact location in one these 2 islands.

I don't want to pay for a course in one place if then I decide to live in another.

Would Muay Thai be accepted for a 55 years old woman? Obviously I dont want to go on the ring, but would love to get fitter. I regularly go to the gym and I can consider to do something more challenging. I would start from a basic course.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is interested in applying for a DTV visa to take a Muay Thai or cooking course in Thailand. They are unsure if there is a minimum course length required for visa acceptance or how to decide between living in Phuket or Koh Samui. Comments suggest that generally, a 6-month course is the minimum, and at 55 years old, the user can apply for a Non-Immigrant O visa, allowing them to engage in training or courses of their choice across Thailand.

The age is fine. A 6 month course seems to be the requirement in many embassies now.

If you are 55 years young and not want to work while being in Thailand, apply for the Non Immigrant O visa and the 1 year Extension of Stay.

You can train or cook at any school when ever you like and where you like, while enjoying being retired in Thailand.
