What are the requirements for extending a Soft Power visa after the initial six-month classes in Thailand?

On the soft Power visa, if I book six months of muay thai/cooking classes for my application, what happens after six months when I get through the immigration? Do I need to show a proof of six more months booked?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a soft power visa in Thailand and booking six months of classes, it is typically not necessary to provide proof of ongoing bookings when entering the country after the initial six-month period. However, if you seek an extension of your stay within Thailand, you may need to show updated proof of your continued engagement in activities relevant to your visa purpose. While most reports suggest that immigration does not routinely check for this, there could be a requirement to confirm your purpose of stay. If your soft power activity ends, you would need to apply for a different visa to remain in Thailand for other reasons.

All DTVs are the same unless it says what you applied under in the remarks. They will be happy with verbal confirmation of what you're doing IF they ask.

Haven't seen any reports about it, but it wouldn't surprise me if this will be a requirement in the future.

Normally they will not check this, but when you have bad luck they might ask you to prove your purpose of stay still matches the visa, and that means ongoing soft power activity in your case.

They might then refuse entry, but the visa stays valid, so you should be able to book soft power and enter again.

When your soft power activity has ended, your reason to visit in Thailand does not exist anymore, which means you don't have a valid purpose of stay at that moment,

When you want to stay there for another reason you need another visa.

It will be required to present the same set of documents as you submit to the Thai Embassy, but everything is updated to the current date.

A. Nony Mous At re-entry they just can ask you to prove ongoing soft power activity.

Anonieme deelnemer 435 Why can they not ask according to you? You have a visa for a specified purpose of stay, and one of the tasks IO does is checking if a visitor has the correct visa for the purpose of stay.

Most times this checks will not be done, but there is no reason why they will not be done every now and then.

they really don’t if you show your visa on re-entry. Maybe if you apply for an extension. Cool story tho.

I also said in most cases they just do not check.

There is no doubt they will check travellers occasionally, DTV is not an exception on that.

When you try to get on on soft power DTV and not have softpower activity ongoing, that just is a valid reason to refuse entry.

Again, not a big chance that will happen, but the possibility exists.

There are reports of checks, and nobody, not even Wes Charles can tell how much checks when and where are done.

The simple fact is that the visa is only valid when you enter the country for the reason the visa is issued, and the general immigration rules clearly state that entrance can be rejected in case your visa does not match your purpose of stay.

Anonieme deelnemer 435 Why is it not factual? Because they not check in 99 percent of the situations?

Luit van der Linde I see you're still worried about being questioned on entry Luit. My advice is just relax and don't worry about what might happen. šŸ‘
