Can anyone in here confirm the Chiang Mai immigration departments expectation regarding the 800k thai bank balance for the retirement visa. Does it have to be shown to have come from overseas, or does it just have to have been seasoned for 2 months prior to application.. Im sending money over using Wise and struggling to get them to mark the transfers as FET for some reason...so just need to know if its my local offices requirements. Any advice appreciated.

The main reason why i am not going to the CM office myself in person is that I am presently overseas, in Bulgaria, selling up my real estate there and preparing myself for the transfer of my life to Chiang Mai. So I cannot find this information in person, but was hoping that someone in this group would have this up to date information, as its something a lot of us have to confront.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Chiang Mai immigration office does not require the 800,000 baht for the retirement visa to originate from abroad or to be seasoned for 2 months for the initial 90-day Non-O visa application. The seasoning requirement applies only when applying for the yearly extension.

I can confirm with 100% certainty that the immigration office in Chiang Mai has no requirement to show the 800K baht originated from abroad,

AND

they do not require the funds be seasoned for 2 months when you apply for the initial 90 day Non-O visa.

The seasoning comes into play when you apply for the year extension.

Now as far as you and the struggles you're having with WISE that's a topic for another group BUT I see you posted in the correct group already.

Good luck with it
