Getting totally confused by all this now so hoping you guys can help.

UK citizen on Non B 1 year visa having to do 90 day border bounces. Stamp runs out on 13th April and Im booked onto a border bounce trip to Andaman Club on 8th April.

Is this border closed now? Any idea if they have any announced re-opening date and if we will still need this Virus free certificate to re-enter and insurance?

Or do we know if there are any plans to allow foreigners who need to border bounce to do this at local immigration office yet?

TIA for all help much appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
UK citizens holding a Non-B visa are experiencing confusion due to current border closures and requirements for border bounces. As of now, borders to neighboring countries like Myanmar and Malaysia are closed, with few checkpoints available for Cambodia. No reopening date has been announced, and it's unclear if requirements such as a virus-free certificate or insurance will be needed for re-entry. Local immigration offices are not currently permitting border bounces, meaning travelers may need to find a destination to fly to. Additionally, there are considerations for seeking an extension of stay through consulates due to the COVID-19 situation.

Malaysia closed their border until 31 March. Remains to be seen if they continue.

If you have NON B why u have to leave u just need to report 90 days notification

There are no different types of Non Immigrant B visa, with this visa you get 90 days of stay inf you enter Thailand. Once if Single Entry or Multiple time when Multiple Entry and valid for 1 year.

What some of you call a visa is actual names as in the text of the stamp: Extension of Stay permitted up to ./../..

With this stamp you report every 90 days to immigration.

The OP's visa s a multiple entry Non-B visa based on employment. On his visa, every entry is only good for 90 days.

The borders to Myanmar are closed.

Same as the borders to Malaysia and Laos.

There are a few border checkpoints open to Cambodia but it seems that after today only the Poi Pet - Aranyaprathet border check point will be open for essential travels.

The medical certificate and insurance are going into effect at midnight today and supposed the be only for people flying into Thailand.

You can not border bounce at an Immigration Office.

You have to find a country to fly to and come back to gain a new 90 day period of stay.

>UK citizen on Non B 1 year visa having to do 90 day border bounces.

So we can use the same words, I'm going to call this a multiple entry Non-B visa.

> Im booked onto a border bounce trip to Andaman Club on 8th April. Is this border closed now?

Yes

>Any idea if they have any announced re-opening date

No, they have not.

>if we will still need this Virus free certificate to re-enter and insurance?

We don't know

>if there are any plans to allow foreigners who need to border bounce to do this at local immigration office yet?

Yes, you can contact your consulate, and request a letter to give to the Thai immigration asking for an extension of stay based on the COVID-19 problem. For UK nationals, I understand the requirements are high, but contact them, they would be the experts. I do not know if they would let you do it for a Non-B visa though.

Not fun but it's going to get a whole lot worse so just do it.

Basically your best bet is to go to the doctor today and get a covid certificate, buy insurance, and then fly to Hong Kong. I'd say Singapore but they require a 14 day hotel booking. Then fly right back. I'm out of town but this is my plan Monday when I return, assuming it's still feasible.
