Hi, I really enjoy this group very informative. I am having a problem trying to find information about martial arts weapons, what is legal and what is illegal have been reading through the Thai government laws and they mostly talk about gun laws.

I have tried now for a week and still little info, if someone can help point me in the right direction much appreciated.

I have been practicing for over 40 years and have a vast collection and would like to bring them with me when I make the move, some I have had since I was 12 years old, again thanks for any and all help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is seeking information about the legality of bringing martial arts weapons to Thailand, expressing frustration at the lack of specific guidance beyond general gun laws. Respondents caution that while specific regulations on martial arts weapons are unclear, there is a risk that customs officials may seize items regardless of legality, particularly knives and swords which are suspected to be illegal.

Any kind of knives and swords I think are illegal in Thailand.

yes I was thinking the throwing knifes would be a problem, but wooden nunchucks, escrima sticks and tonfas to name a few.

Thanks again

the need to continue to practice, I would rather wear out than rust out. I see myself practicing until the box goes into the hole ๐ŸคŸ

My guess would be regardless of what is and isn't legal, you run a larger risk of someone at Thai customs taking a liking to one or more of the items and at that point deciding to seize it for this or that reason. You wouldn't really have any recourse if this were to happen.

understood, thanks. Just been spending a lot of time trying to research what I can legally bring, don't want to start out being a criminal.
