What are the details and costs associated with a DTV visa application through an agency in Thailand?

DTV Visa – Full breakdown (so there’s no confusion):

I applied from the United States through the Los Angeles embassy

Submitted: Feb 15

Approved: Feb 17 → 2 days

Total I paid: 18,500 THB ($540) – ALL IN

This price INCLUDED:

✔ 13,000 THB government visa fee

✔ 3,822 THB agency service fee

✔ 7% VAT (1,178 THB)

So it was not just an agency fee — it covered the visa + their service.

What the agency actually did:

I own a real estate business, so my application had:

• company documents

• income proof

• bank statements

Before submitting anything to the embassy they:

✅ Reviewed all my documents

✅ Told me if something needed fixing

✅ Organized the entire application properly

✅ Double-checked everything for compliance

✅ Submitted it correctly the first time

Because of that there were:

no extra document requests

no delays

no back-and-forth

That’s why the approval was fast.

Can you do it yourself?

Yes — many people do.

I chose an agency because I wanted:

✔ speed

✔ accuracy

✔ zero stress

✔ lower risk with business documents

Different people value different things.

I recognize that message style, I got mine with Issa too last Friday. Denied previously doing it myself most likely because of a slight glare on my passport photo page. Wish I'd have used them the first time - I did medical for anyone wanting to ask

I used an agency (also applying from US) and was submitted on February 12 and haven’t heard back. Curious why your turn around time was so fast.

I’ve been running my real estate business for the past five years, and the agency required full documentation to support the application. Before submitting to the government, they carefully reviewed everything to make sure it was complete and accurate.

I also put together a very detailed, step-by-step presentation showing exactly what I do. That included invoices, my business formation documents and articles, a cover letter, my resume, personal bank statements, and business bank statements. So by the time it was submitted, it was essentially a fully packaged and verified file, which I believe is what helped speed up the approval.

I have an established business for five years now and I provided all the same info you covered above to my visa agency. It took us a few weeks of back and forth organizing all the docs before they submitted on 12th as a fully packaged verified file the same. So again not sure why the turnaround time is different with a similar situation 🤷🏻‍♂️. Oh well, all I can do I wait to be notified.

Adnan Khairi I applied for the DTV Workcation as a solo applicant through Issa Compass.

I showed $17,500 in my personal account and a higher amount in my business account, plus proof of my real estate business.

They reviewed everything before submitting, which helped speed up the approval.

You can easily do this yourself without having to pay these ridiculous fees an agency asks you.

I helped two other people as well get the dtv visa. It's really not rocket science and they don't ask you for a lot. Had mine approved within 2 days and my friends within a week (different embassies).

18,500 THB

That is for what exactly

Is that for them to check your documents and prepare your file and apply on your behalf

Or is that a course fee

And does the
*****
( including the visa embassy fee ) ?

Your post is not clear and not give a useful explanation for people in my point of view

Edit : thank you for editing the post and add the details.

Now it is clear .

If so. Then it considered fair

As you provided them the documents

At the end. Congratulations for the visa 😊

if it includes the 10,000thb application fee, that’s not bad at all imo. If it’s on top of the fee and softpower classes, then I agree it’s steep (expensive).
