Sadly, Anthony Lawson has turned off the comment function of his thread about the phone number and the SIM card.
There was a misunderstanding:
I wrote that the SCB Onlinebanking App does not require a SIM card or phone number. The App itself works perfectly when your phone simply is connected to the Internet, regardless which SIM card you use.
The misunderstanding is: To get a SCB bank account opened, you need to connect it to your Thai phone number, and the SIM card must be registered to your name and your passport number.
You need the phone number and the SIM card only ONCE. And then never again.
Just for working with the onlinebanking App, you don't need that SIM card and that phone number anymore. The App works with a six-digit PIN code, and that's what is to it
