TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent news reports indicate that Thai citizens are no longer required to fill out the TM form when exiting Thailand, which is expected to speed up the immigration process at border crossings. Comments suggest mixed feelings about how this change impacts foreigners, as they still must complete the TM.6 form. Some participants in the discussion express concerns that despite improving processing times for Thais, the changes may not significantly benefit foreigners passing through immigration.
nope only singaporeans for now as SG is considering giving the fast lane to Thais as well. And well they claim Singaporeans frequent bangkok on weekly basis etc.
I think they're just more on top of it after the cluster fuck they had a while back with the international press picking up on the terrible waiting time to stamp in and out of the country
The difference was although they did have electronic gates they still had to fill out the T.M 6 form witch was a pain in the backside for my wife as her English writing skills are terrible as it had to be written out in English so I had to help her through the gate witch give the officers something to laugh about but since they done a way with that and it's much eisier...
whether thaiz do or don't fill out the TM.6 departure card didn't have any bearing on clogging up the queues for foreigners comin' in because thaiz use a different line. :/
Great at Don Muaeng yesterday, all double desks manned and virtually no queues. Through in 5 mins. Also a much better queueing system than last year's shambles and had staff checking that TM6 forms were completed before letting you into the immigration area.
