Hi everyone,

I'm currently in Thailand and will need to leave the country in the next few days to apply for the DTV (Digital Nomad) visa from a nearby country.

For those who have successfully applied, which country did you choose and why? I'd love to hear about your personal experience.

- Which Thai embassy/consulate did you use?

- How long did the process take?

- Were they strict about documentation?

- Would you recommend that location to someone applying for the first time?

I'm considering nearby options such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos, Taiwan, Cambodia, Indonesia, or the Philippines, but I'm open to any recommendations.

You haven't even stated what purpose you would apply for the DTV. Use the group search tool with either your entry scheme or preferred embassy and start reading.

I applied in Laos was pretty quick and straight forward. Had a family of 4 approved in less than 2 weeks. There were public holidays and weekends when I applied so working days was probably about 6

I heard you get asked to but I was never requested to show mine but people said I was one of very few who dont get asked. So be prepared to show it

Laos. Processing time 4.5 business days. Beautiful country, so travelled around whilst waiting and stayed even longer after approval.

Of course embassies are strict, documents need to be in order. If you have all the right documents and meet the requirements, then there should not be a problem.

I didn't have an interview. But if you check the other posts in this group, then yes you have to show the money on the app

I applied via London MSc in the UK. It took three weeks.

Hanoi, Vientiane and Manilla seem to have good processing times of around a week-two.

Jakarta can be 4+ weeks (and can require an interview in person).

Cambodia can be around 8 weeks and I see a lot of rejections, wouldn't recommend.

KL is notoriously strict, other places in Malaysia are better.

Haven't noticed and reports out of Tawain.

Search the coties/countries in the group before deciding.

Currently the fastest, with the least pressure, is in Yangon, Myanmar, although they are strict

Yes most likely will be asked to show PROOF of your current bank account balance using your phone.
