TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is asking for information on the quickest methods for a visa run from Hua Hin, including the process and requirements. Commenters suggest options like Kanchanaburi for a normal border hop, with recommendations for a 30-day border exit at Ranong or a train to Vientiane for a longer stay. Additional clarity on the purpose of the trip—whether for a simple border stamp or a visa purchase—has also been discussed.

The question is; are you just needing to go to the border, stamp outta thailand, in&out of another country, then back into thailand to get either a visa exempt entry stamp or to activate another entry on a multi-entry visa

OR

Do you need to go to a thai consulate to BUY a visa ?

If you just need a 30-day border hop, Ranong is probably easier, maybe even a direct bus. Still a 5-6 hour ride so perhaps do an overnighter.

I reckon you can do it over at Kanchanaburi for a normal border hop, not sure about the details or requirements though. But i think it's closest/quickest. Otherwise a trainride from BKK to Viantiene will give you another 90 days.

I got an extension about 3 weeks ago at kanchanaburi, METV in and out with no problems.

@Alex ****
funds not an issue , 20 hour round trip is lol

I've done VTE several times and never had any hustle, would recommend it. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i THINK, VTE does not require proof of funds, etc, as opposed to SVKT -

that does.
