Hi,
So, I'm on an ED visa for the last 31/2 years from Ramkhamhaeng University. I finish in November, and they say i need to cancel my ED visa. I am not married to my Thai partner, but we have a 2 year old daughter. What is my best option...
1) Can i cancel the ED visa and change to a Non B without leaving the country?
2) I leave and come back in on a tourist visa and then change to a Non b.
3) I leave and come back in on a Non o child dependent visa, and apply for a work permit while staying on the Non o child dependent.
4) Any other options?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on an ED visa, finishing their studies at Ramkhamhaeng University, and is exploring their options for changing their visa type. They are considering the following options: 1) Cancel their ED visa and switch to a Non-B visa without leaving Thailand, 2) Leave and return on a tourist visa, then change to a Non-B visa, 3) Leave and return on a Non-O child dependent visa while applying for a work permit. Community responses clarify that it is not possible to change from an extension of stay to a new visa without leaving the country, suggesting that the user should consider leaving and coming back with a tourist visa as the simplest solution.
