TLDR : Answer Summary
When looking for border run options from Phuket for visa purposes, several strategies and companies are recommended. One DIY option is to travel to Ranong via a long-tail boat to Myanmar, although currently not many border run companies are servicing this route. Alternatives include using companies like KBA, TMT, and The Phuket Travel Shop for trips to Satun on the Malaysian border. Some expats suggest renting a car for a more comfortable journey to Ranong or Satun, with travel times being approximately 4 to 6 hours. Others recommend purchasing a return plane ticket to Singapore as a quicker and potentially cheaper alternative. The discussions highlight various travel durations and the pros and cons of different travel methods.

its a 4 hour drive or 6 on the local bus to Ranong.
Also a good idea is to do it in 2 days so you can have your own pace and visit a bit

DIY go to Ranong. Get a long tail to Myanmar and come straight back. The border bounce companies aren’t doing this route yet because the much nicer Andaman Club route isn’t open yet.
Via a border run company you go to Satun on the Malaysian border. Long day.
Companies that I know that do that run are KBA, TMT and The Phuket Travel Shop.
