hi everyone I have important questions to ask you about the visa. I currently have a 30-day extension that can be extended further with the letter from the embassy. I have a son arriving in August or early September and returning to Italy I am afraid I will not be able to return to see my son. i want to know if there is any other way to get more time thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their stay in Thailand beyond a 30-day extension due to their son's expected arrival in August or September. They discuss options such as obtaining a letter from the embassy for a further extension, which might grant up to 30 additional days. However, community members suggest that the actual extension may be limited to 15 days and recommend preparing a backup plan in case the situation changes, particularly due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19.

Assuming you have already requested an extension of stay based on tourist, the only option to stay in Thailand is to apply for an Extension of Stay based on the COVID-19 virus, which should let you stay no later then 30 days (at the discretion of the immigration officer on duty).

It is unknown what will happen in May, and it's completely unknown what will happen in August. I suggest making a Plan B in case you can not stay longer than May, and if you can, to ask your question around early July.

I'm closing comments.

Sorry if I ask, but I thought the extension with the embassy letter was 30 days, wasn't it?

It's UP TO 30 days. Most immigration offices have been giving 15 day stamp, and wanting a person to return after 15 days. This letter is to give a person more time to find a flight back to their country of passport.

Sorry, but there are no visa's available for staying with a pregnant girlfriend, All you can do is using this letter if you like to stay as long as possible and hope borders and Consulates open up again to get a Tourist visa.

Do you mean:

I'm in Thailand on a 30 day Extension of Stay, if I like to stay longer I need to use the Embassy letter and get 15 days extra, but my son is arriving as in my girlfriend is pregnant and the baby will be born in August or early September, is there a way I can get a visa to stay until after birth?

@Robert ******

The extension of stay baed on COVID-19 virus may allow you to stay in Thailand UP TO 30 additional days. You may need to figure out a Plan B for early Ma

> have a son arriving in August or early September and returning to Italy

August or early September is about 5 months away. Things are changing quickly every day here. I recommend re-asking your question around July.
