My Visa is up and I'm going to Krabi immigration right now. I had the US general letter printed but then they released the personal one that I have to wait 72 hours for and I requested yesterday.
So, should I go today and try for the 30 day emergency which will most likely get rejected and have to pay the 7 day emergency for 1900 baht. Or wait for the letter and pay $30usd for two days overstay and try my luck with the personalized letter instead?
Edit: on 30 day tourist visa and used my extension already. I had my flight booked to vietnam before all of this and it was cancelled

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is unsure whether to go to Krabi immigration to apply for a 30-day emergency extension, which might be denied, or to wait for a personalized letter which will take 72 hours, while considering the implications of overstay and potential costs.
that's a decision YOU have to make, AND I don't know IF you can get the 30 day 'unable to travel due to covid-19 once you get that 7 day application for extension denied stamp that gives you a week to get outta dodge OR if you can get the 30 day unable to travel extension when you're on overstay.
Those are questions you need to hash out the answers from immigrations BEFORE you decide what to do. Don't burn yourself from getting the 30 day unable to travel extension by making a mistake now as far as what you do. ASK them
