Should I hire VIP Airport Fast Pass if I have an LTR WP visa and my dad is wheelchair bound?

If I have the LTR WP visa, should I still hire VIP Airport Fast Pass? I know we get priority lines, but will the VIP service be quicker? My dad is wheelchair bound and I do not want him sitting around any longer after a 22-hour flight.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have an LTR WP visa, you generally will have access to priority lanes at Bangkok's airport, which is similar to what the VIP Airport Fast Pass offers. However, since your dad is wheelchair-bound, it's advisable to request wheelchair assistance from the airline, which can expedite the process through customs and immigration without incurring additional costs for the VIP service. Many users have shared positive experiences using wheelchair assistance, which often allows them to bypass waiting in lines, including during fast track procedures for elderly travelers.

The priority lanes and fast track are different. The priority lanes are with the main passport control beyond the auto gates, and the fast tracks are different exits altogether. If you ask for wheelchair assistance, you will be taken through the fast track.

I am wheelchair bound as well. Staff always push me through fast track. Just those fingerprint readers are bloody high up. Staff is always very patient with me though

Dogma Dogma you do not need the VIP entry, you can use the Fast Track Immigration entry for free, as this one is meant for the elderly and those in wheelchairs

I flew in and out of BKK with assistance pre-booked through ITA Airlines and all was sweet in and out. Please don't forget to tip the helper as they really go that little bit extra

Who has an LTR? Both of you? Just you? Just him?

The LTR visa gives you access to the same exact lanes that the airport fast track gives you access to. But there's no guarantee that anyone except the person with the LTR visa will be allowed into those lanes.

There are express lanes for those over 70, but I'm not sure if they still use the same Fast Track area as LTR, or if the elderly lanes have moved to the priority lanes in the normal immigration area. Maybe someone who has been through there recently can chime in.

we both have LTR. Dad is 82 and we are flying business class so I was thinking we should be covered but I want him as comfortable as possible.

Then you both have access to the completely separate fast track lane. Walk PAST the immigration area and to the big FAST TRACK arch in between the 2 immigrations. This is where they would bring you if you purchased fast track.

The only difference is you can get a golf cart from the paid one. But if you are fine taking him to the fast track lane, don't waste your money.

the wheelchair assistance will take him and father through the lines. They always take me to the front of the line bypassing what ever line is there. I am in wheelchair on business class ticket with LTR visa.
