Not visa related but an inquiry involving money transfers.
I am currently living in the Philippines and hold some Philippine Peso.
I was wondering if it would be better to exchange here for US Dollars and bring them with me instead of peso….not sure as means exchanging twice !!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry involves whether it's beneficial to exchange Philippine Pesos (PHP) for US Dollars (USD) in the Philippines before traveling to Thailand, or to exchange directly to Thai Baht (THB) upon arrival. Comments suggest that converting to USD in the Philippines may yield better rates for THB, as PHP rates are generally poor in Thailand. Users recommend checking current exchange rates using services like Superrich and advise against multiple exchanges to avoid losses. Some also offer personal exchanges at mid-exchange rates.
Ok. No worries. Keep it in mind should you come again and spend any time in Bangkok. Unfortunately I don't know anyone permanently in Hua Hin as they could have done the deal
thanks again a shame as I spent some time in Bangkok on my last visit a few weeks ago….this time I hope to avail the retirement visa….i might just bring the peso with me and hang onto them 👍😁

I bring pesos to Thailand. I usually check rates at the superrich site before I go so that I know what the going rate is.

Also I found that the Superrich outlet in The Market (across Central World) has better rates as compared to other Superrich outlets.
Superrich is best if dealing with a lot of currency. Talk to girl for better rate, she'll call gal in Japan, it you have cash in hand you can get better than advertised rate.
Do due dilligance and check exchange rate straight to Thai baht there. Don't exchange twice. Use Superich as a pointer here but bills need to be perfect
