TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation addresses the challenges expats face when trying to open bank accounts and obtain driver's licenses in Thailand. Several commenters discuss the feasibility of using agents for such services, share personal experiences, and highlight the importance of understanding the required visa status, particularly the DTV visa. While some believe agencies could offer assistance, others warn against reliance on them for banking due to possible account restrictions. Additionally, practical suggestions for easily procuring a driver's license are provided.

Are you signing up for driving lessons at a school or are you just getting a Thai license instead of your current one

Drivers license is easily done yourself at the nearest Department if Land Transport. It is partucularly easy, if you already have a valid IDP for your desired category of vehicle. But even doing a DL from scratch is far from rocket science in Thailand. If you don't know how to ride, however, do yourself and people around you a favor and learn it properly, first. I can highly recommend

for this. They also offer driving license courses.

As for banking: Don't. Sure: You might find an agent who will for a lot of money be bribing someone into opening an account for you (however even that was difficult recently). But what good is a new bank account when it is at risk of soon to be shut down again? Use Wise and / or Revolut for payments like rent. Use True Money Wallet to conveniently scan like Thai bank account holders can.
