I have heard of a new app called JamJang (or Jam Jang?) which allows tourists to use PromptPay QR codes without a Thai bank account. The app sounds perfect in theory but I am hesitant to download it because it's only 3 months old and there is close to zero information on it. It just seems a bit... dodgy. Has anyone here used JamJang?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The JamJang app allows tourists to use PromptPay QR codes without needing a Thai bank account. However, users express concerns over its credibility due to its short existence and lack of reliable information. Initial comments indicate that the app might look sketchy, though it's noted that Apple vetting could lend some legitimacy. Later comments suggest that some users have found it functional, indicating mixed opinions on its trustworthiness.
