TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared concerns about their friend applying for a visa while still in Thailand, suggesting that this could lead to negative consequences like losing money or having the application canceled. Commenters advised that the best course of action is for the friend to travel to the country where the application was submitted as quickly as possible. They should prepare for the possibility that the embassy may request proof of exit from Thailand. Some pointed out that not all embassies require proof of leaving Thailand, but the safest option remains to leave Thailand to avoid complications.

Depends which embassy. Some don't request proof of exit stamps. I know of someone who was approved while in thailand and has had no issues. But as others suggest, safe bet is to leave thailand now and go to the country of application. Or take the risk

Tell her to get to the country where she applied as quickly as possible and pray they don't ask for copies of her passport pages or other things that show she was in Thailand when she applied.

Immediately travel to the country where the application was submitted and hope they don't discover it or they'll cancel the application with no refund.
