Is Mae Sai the best option for another border bounce from an extended SETV before my flight on December 12th?

Did Mae Sai border bounce yesterday from Chiang Mai 8am to 9pm everything ran super smoothly: green bus - minivan - moto taxi - border - $10 - no shopping - straight back in and the same in reverse. The road works caused very minor delays on the way there, none on the way back.

My question is, if I do another one (back to back border bounce from an extended SETV) when this one runs out, is Mae Sai the best place to do it? I’m thinking of heading to the Islands, but don’t want to get turned down as I have a flight booked to leave Thailand on 12th December. Really don’t want to have to mull around KL for 2 weeks. Any advice much appreciated 👍

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their recent experience with a border bounce from Chiang Mai to Mae Sai and inquires whether returning to Mae Sai for another bounce is advisable before their flight out of Thailand on December 12th. Community members discuss options for extending the visa, including the possibility of getting a 30-day Extension of Stay and the limitations on border bouncing within a calendar year.

I'm a little bit confused myself. Is this the timeline:

1. You had an SETV (60 days).

2. You extended it at Chang Mai immigration (for an additional 30 days).

3. At the end of the 30 days, you border bounce and got a 30 day visa exempt. Note: You are NOT on a visa now, and by border bouncing you did NOT extend that visa.

4. You will go to immigration and extend that 30 day visa exempt?

I had SETV, extended a while back at immigration. Did a bounce yesterday which gave me another 30 days. I am then gonna extend this again at immigration in the way that Robert and Ivan has mentioned.

You can extend it right now as well, you don't need to wait. So you can go to Chiang Mai immigration on Monday, get your extension and then you'll be good until 24 December and can go down south and do what you like without worrying about it any more.

and I won’t lose any days? Oh great 👍 thanks for the tip, that makes it more convenient.

You can get the 30 day Extension of Stay at Immigration Office or do another border bounce as long as the one yesterday was your first border bounce this year. You can only do this border bouncing twice a calendar year.

SETV get Extension of Stay at Immigration and at the end do a border bounce to get a new Visa Exempt Entry. Why he mention his memories i have no idea.
Robert *******
yes, yesterday you got a new Visa Exempt Entry and you can apply for a new Extension of Stay.

I’ve already extended the setv, are you saying I can now extend again on the new stamp?
