Hi all. There was a post about 3 weeks ago with a list of countries that could apply for the 30 day extension with a consulate letter. Can't find the post anymore, does anyone know if Japan is one of the countries? Asking for a friend

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about Japan's eligibility for a 30-day extension in Thailand with a consulate letter. Comments revealed that Japan was not one of the countries on the list, and due to emergency legislation, most travelers do not currently need to apply for extensions.

Anyway, Japan is (was) Not one of those countries.
(No wonder because there are still (almost) daily flights to Japan...)

almost every country FINALLY got on board with issuing the "unable to travel due to covid-19" letter so its citizens could get the emregency extension.
BUT with the "automatic extensions until April 30th" legislation passed no one needs to get an extension right now. People are being turned away from Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok.
