The conversation revolves around the safety and desirability of traveling to Buriram, Thailand, amidst recent conflicts. Opinions vary widely: some individuals advocate for the area's beauty and offer positive experiences, citing local attractions, friendly people, and activities such as MotoGP events. My thoughts: People, stay home. Please give me another unique and superb experience traveling Thailand like it was during the beginning of COVID. Thailand is so (much more) beautiful without mass-tourism.

Check your travel insurance. It’s one of the provinces on uk government website where travel is not recommended- so any insurance may be invalid

@Colin ********************
I was going to say the same. My government also added some 7 provinces each on both Cambodia and Thailand sides where non essential travel is restricted. Normally that's enough to invalidate insurances, assuming you're using an insurer from that same country.

Not recommend from your national government is one thing, but as long as there’s no evacuation order, an insurance is normally still valid.

Ok, it might be different than an Norwegian then, as there was an official statement today confirming that your travel insurance still is valid as long as there’s no on going evacuation order in the area where you stay.

Hi Vinn, we were supposed to go to Buriram and Prakonchai area today, I have postponed it for a while. Do you think its safe? Wife's village is about 50km from the border. And what about Buriram city?

Buriram city is safe. Prakonchai could be not safe because we bring people from there to buriram city. Buriram city is about 2 hours drive to the border and Prakonchai is very nearby there also have been attacks from Cambodia there.

I live in Bangkok, but my favourite destinations in Thailand are Rayong, Hua Hin, Kanchanaburi, Chiang Mai, Phuket. Certainly not Buriram! Let's not forget Buriram only became part of Thailand less than a century ago. Historically it's Cambodia so why doesn't Thailand just give it back to its traditional owners?

If you don't call Buriram a tourist destination, you don't know nothing about Thailand. And who cares where the bar girls from? People who visit Buriram are not the sextourist from Pattaya for example. Do you have any howmany tourist Buriram have every year? And you still calling Buriram not a tourist destination? 😅

They got some, for sure! The Thai Airforce just reported this morning, that they were able to destroy one PHL-03 launcher out of six in the area around the Ta Muen temple. So it is five more to go! And their range is 130 kilometres, not 160 km
