Answer summary
The conversation discusses bringing a 10g gold bar through Bangkok airport, with various opinions shared. Most commenters suggest that carrying 10g is generally acceptable and unlikely to cause issues, provided it’s treated as personal property rather than a commercial import. However, one commenter notes that an import license is required for gold bullion, emphasizing the importance of knowing Thai laws regarding imports. Others recommend wearing the gold or concealing it to avoid any trouble at customs.

Would technically need to be declared...if found may have to pay a tax on it. Uspoosidely nay products over...forgot the amount...but a sales tax would have to be paid on it...or customs tarrif. I would just sell it before you came. Check out the prices there vs what it cost to sell where ever you are...I would get 95% of market value when I sold my gold.

Coins need only be declared at face value, not actual gold weight value. Also jewelry especially if it’s worn, are the 2 best ways.

No one cares about 10 grams of gold. I’m more worried about you losing it since it’s so small.

Just checking Thai Law for import. There you see what you have to declare.

Bringing gold bullion or bars into Thailand requires an import license from the Ministry of Commerce, or the gold must be left in customs bond at the airport until your departure

It’s a gift, Thais love gifts & IF it came to it you’ll be making “a gift” in the office & you’d be on your way. Even cheap Charlie’s are flopping through customs with a 3 baht (45g) chain round their neck
