I'm planning on leaving Canada and visit family in EU for 2-3 months (I have citizenship there but not residency). After that I'd like to move to Thailand on a DTV.
I think it makes sense for me to apply from Canada before leaving but what's the risk of applying right before going to EU? I don't plan on returning to Canada before going to Thailand and from what I understand I'm supposed to be in the country from which I am applying from?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering applying for a Thai DTV visa while still in Canada, ahead of a trip to visit family in the EU. They are concerned about the requirement to remain in the country of application until approval. Comments suggest that while it's possible to apply in Canada, it is necessary to stay there until the visa is approved. Alternatively, applying for the visa from the EU may be an option, depending on residency requirements in the respective European country.
