TLDR : Answer Summary
A DTV visa holder in Thailand can apply for a Japan visit visa, granted they possess a long-term visa and a valid re-entry permit for Thailand. It's advised to confirm with the Japanese consulate for specific requirements.

What's the DTV got to do with your ability to visit a seperate independent country?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I am not in Thailand yet but plan to visit with a DTV visa. However, I also need to travel to Japan for a personal visit. If the DTV visa is not a long-term option, I am concerned that it may affect my ability to apply for another visa. Therefore, I need to ensure that my travel plans comply with visa requirements.

Anonymous participant the DTV is a multiple entry visa so you can come and go as you please. Applying for a visa to another country whilst having the DTV visa is totally seperate

I checked with the embassy, and they confirmed that if I have a long-term visa and a valid re-entry permit for Thailand, I am eligible to apply.

Thank you all

Anonymous participant double check if a DTV is considered a long-term visa though .

how do you know?

...The post gives us absolutely no idea who they are.... posting anonymously..

...Japan has its own requirements for obtaining a visitors visa.

...Having a Thai DTV Visa means nothing to Japan.

gave a good answer...CONTACT THE JAPANESE EMBASSY OR CONSULATE IN THAILAND.

but if you don't know who the poster is and their passport nation, how can the Japanese Embassy answer?

Having a Thai DTV Visa means nothing to Japanese immigration.

What's Most important is what is the passport nation of the anonymous poster?

My guess is that they are from a nation in which Japan does not grant a visa exempt entry or even a visitors visa.

And the anonymous poster is hoping that having a Thai DTV Visa in their passport gives them special access to Japan.

That's NOT HAPPENING

Thai PASSPORT holders can enter Japan for 15 days as Visa Exempt Entry.

Having a Thai DTV Visa in their passport means NOTHING to their ability to enter Japan visa exempt.
