Hi I asked an agent for DTV services with soft power. I already settled the half deposit amount for services fees. But after few days, I didn’t feel she is reliable and I cancelled the service. She agreed to refund the deposit but she minus the class fees 16,500THB because she said the class has already registered for me. Then, I asked her the receipt of cooking class that she registered and she refused to show me receipt and said no agent can’t show that kinda receipt to clients . I know this is my bad that easily trust to people 🥹.
Can anyone advise me for this ? I want to know agent can’t show class info and receipts are normal ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience with a DTV services agent after paying a deposit. They felt the agent was unreliable and canceled the service, leading to a dispute about a refund, with the agent refusing to provide proof of class registration. Comments from other users suggest that the agent's behavior is questionable, emphasize the importance of verifying registrations directly with the school, and caution about trusting agents in general. Some participants expressed that using agents is unnecessary and can sometimes lead to scams.
Why do you need an agent? You can get documents from the school itself. They don't give receipts for classes, but there must be an agreement on enrollment in the course.
If you're really registered, then just ask the school for a confirmation. If they confirm you are, then simply enjoy the cooking class, with or without a DTV linked to it.
Sorry this happened to you. In future you do not need an agent there is plenty of information and ppl in this group that are willing to answer any questions and guidance needed to be successful in obtaining your visa. Wish you much success in future in getting your visa 🙏🏽
You are being scammed. Go back with the tourist police and have them 'clarify' the situation for you. Very slight chance to get your money back, worth trying though.
Thanks to everyone who gave me advice. I’ll do everything I can and will share the details of my experience. so that others won’t have to go through like me.
It's been said a 1000 times here. You don't need an agent the DTV application is not difficult. If you can't do it yourself look in here you will see the path people took. Agents are just playing with your money and it's not guarantee if the embassy thinks you use an agent the will deny you and agent keep your money. You got scam sounds like indian scammer
. Faster for me because they handle the paperwork and I don’t have to spend time on it. I have a higher degree of certainty that it will go through as everything is checked and there is no follow up questions and delays.
Christopher Dennis You have to give them the paperwork. How do they get it ???? From the sky your just lazy or not savy. Probably paid an agent for your Thai licence also and to do your 90 day reports. How do you survive outside your country. Guess Thais love you just keep paying right. Good luck mate
it is true that it is not necessary to use an agent. But using an agent is faster and saves time. But when using an agent make sure that it is a reliable agent. Plenty of references in here.
rubbish how is an agent faster. Explain they must ask you for your paperwork they just upload it. The embassy is not quicker stupid comment to people here
Donna Fine because they check the paperwork so that when submitted it is correct and I don’t have to spend time worrying about anything or answering follow-up questions. Yes, I could do it myself - I did look at the website, but frankly didn’t have the time to look into the detail, so happy to pay someone for the admin. There is no difference to embassy processing time. Only on personal time spent. And a good agent will only submit when documentation is in place so less chance of delays due to follow-up questions.
The agent needs to provide the course registration info to apply for the visa. If she says you are registered already then you can still take the class, assuming the start date is within a timeframe to get the visa.
On another note, stop trusting lone wolf "agents" unregistered, and unlicensed, to do this job.
Anonymous participant 565 actually she is from my country. Not from Thailand.
Now I’m collecting information that she mentioned: no agents can’t let clients know the information. If this process isn’t normal , I’ll post about her in my country group.
What school is "my school"? Why not say the name and advertise your business? Is it cooking, Muay Thai, Thai herbs? Your reply leaves a lot of questions.

Anonymous participant 535 she asked more money over first agreed service fees, with the reason, due to embassy policy changes. I started feel It’s not normal and I cancelled.
Anonymous participant That’s odd. Even if you cancelled, you’re entitled to the school name, registration docs, and a receipt. Sounds like a scam. Better always check T&C before paying a deposit.
Anonymous participant Another lie, does the agent have an office? Which country are you applying from ? You can apply yourself via threads in this group.
