I submitted my application on 1 September. It has already been 4 working days and it's still in pending documents check. Is it normal to take that long?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asked whether it's normal for their visa application to remain in pending documents check for over four working days since submission. Various comments suggest that processing times can vary greatly, mentioning factors such as holiday schedules and embassy-specific timelines. It's recommended to be patient as processing can sometimes exceed initial expectations.

Do not put any weight in those “status” updates, they are not accurate and can shift both ways.

Before going to an Embassy, check their processing time.

You submitted right around the Independence Day, which I’m sure will cause delays. I submitted in Hanoi in mid August and my documents were checked the next day. You should be getting an update very soon.

Where did you submit and it's only been 3 days, minimum processing time is five business days at some of the shorter timeline embassies.
