Is it better to obtain an Education Visa in Thailand after arriving or from the UK before traveling?

Hi there. Quick question.

My plan is to get SETV visa here in UK, head to portugal for a couple of months then over to Thailand (Ipretty sure I have up to 3 months to activate the SETV, correct me if I'm wrong). Potentially I'll extend/do a hop and extend again for 6 months.

Then my plan is to get an Education Visa in Chiang Mai.

In your opinion is it better to get the Education Visa in Thailand - visting some instutions first (I know I have to head out of country to get this going once school apporved/I have paid) OR should I fly back to UK after Portugal and set up Education Visa her ein UK first?

According to my research the first option seems best - apply for Education Visa whilst in Thailand?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to acquire a SETV visa in the UK, travel to Portugal, and then to Thailand, seeking clarification on the activation period for the visa and the best approach to obtain an Education Visa. The discussion indicates that the Education Visa can be obtained within Thailand and suggests contacting schools upon arrival to explore options.

Several wrong answers for deleted. The Ed Visa can be obtained inside Thailand.

Select a school and discuss the Ed Visa option's for you

you have 90 days from the date they issue a single entry tourist visa to ENTER thailand and get stamped in for 60 days. Then get your 30 day extension

Now the rest of the plan is so far in the future (as you say you're going to get another tourist visa and 30 day extension here before you try for an ED visa) that no one can tell you one way or another which is the better way ๐Ÿ˜•

How about you get here, talk to some schools that you are interested in enrolling in and see what THEY say about doing the ED visa in country or getting it from a thai consulate at a nearby country?
