Is 1 hour and 45 minutes enough time to transfer from an internal flight to an international flight at Bangkok airport?

Hello,

I am seeking for advises.

We are flying from Phuket to Bangkok then to Singapore, with different airlines and luggages.

Hence we need to exit the internal terminal with our luggages and then check in to international terminal.

do you think it is feasible with 1h45 between our 2 flights ?

Thanks a lot!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is concerned about the feasibility of transferring from a domestic flight in Phuket to an international flight in Bangkok with only 1 hour and 45 minutes between flights. Community responses highlight that while it may be doable, it is tight and could be risky due to potential delays. Many readers suggest allowing more time for a smoother transfer experience and note that checking in for international flights typically requires arriving at least 2 to 3 hours in advance. Additionally, the complexity of moving between terminals and handling luggage also adds to the time constraints.

Lots of cheap flights from Phuket to Bkk.

Book a much earlier one.

Better to be sitting around a few hours than panicking.

Should be okay.

I flown in from England to Bangkok with 45 minutes to wait for the next flight and made it, my luggage transferred automatically

From Don Muaeng to Suvarnabumi in 1h45? Not going to happen. Maybe if you book a very fast transfer but with luggage it will be very difficult.

Check if the airlines have baggage interlining agreements

Might be worth to upgrade to business domestic route it will speed up all things and if you let them know you need help in the airport should be okay

I arrived an hour before my long haul flight to London a month ago. Cut it fine but all was ok. They say 3 hours but 2 is what I usually aim for as I hate the long waits. But this is when I’m already in BKK… There could well be a delay at Phuket and your 1.45 may not be 1.45 at all.

No, mission impossible … won’t have enough time to check in w S’pore flight

You defo need to be there 3 hrs before your flight to Singapore

For international flights they tell you to get there 3 hours before you fly. A lot of paperwork to check. Very tight. Maybe change flight from Phuket.

It is doable, but everything has to go smooth. Not much room for any type of delay.

We are doing that route too, but arriving 1525 then flight to Singapore 1905. Haven't gone to Thailand since covid but before we went quite often and budget airlines are more often than not delayed so we thought better to have a longer buffer

No Problem - I came from KHONKAEN - Picked my Bags -Changed from Floor 1 to Floor 4 - (You must first use the Automated Machines (Someone at every Machine) - Only then line up to Check-in Bags - Got to be in that Ticket first from the machine then Bag - *No one will tell You this* - as I almost found out the hard way - Staff Very HELPFUL - Good look - Please don't Queue up and Lode 20 minutes in the Queue to be sent back to the Automated Machine - Any Problems I'm a PM away - God Luck - 🌿

We chose to fly to Bangkok a day before our flight to Singapore. Less stressful😉

I think we will do the same !

You're flying into and out of the same airport in Bangkok? Personally I think it's too tight, the slightest of delay anywhere and you're done for.

a domestic flight for an international flight should be fine you just can’t do the opposite

Hopefully it’s both bkk-bkk and not dmk-bkk
