🌴 My 3rd DTV stamp – super smooth entry in Phuket today!🌴

Just landed in Phuket (HKT) and got my 3rd DTV entry stamp in less than 1 minute — literally no questions asked!I

handed over my passport + the printed DTV passport size, and the Immigration Officer stamped it right away. Super friendly & straightforward process.

This was my first time arriving in Phuket — we've always come through Suvarnabhumi before, so I wasn't sure what to expect… but honestly, it was even smoother than I imagined!

For anyone worried about Phuket immigration with DTV → don't stress, it's quick and easy (at least today!). 🙏

I believe it's best practice to have ready: proof of accomodation, bank statements, booked outbound flight ticket within 180 days, brief statement explaining purpose of stay to show to them in case they ask.

It’s not always like that. Don’t give people false hope, be always prepared for what if situation. I have had both experiences. And being prepared is key to not look suspicious. It’s always awkward when they start asking questions. Just be ready that’s all.

No problems for genuine DTV holders, smooth passing in/out

I think IO’s are only likely to question some of those that slipped in on a 3 month courses soft option..like what are they doing now in Thailand, where are they living and probably proof of funds etc

Pardon me
@John ********
, but what you are saying is not substantiated with factual reports about your claim of questioning a DTV Visa holder who had a 3 month soft power activity. I call it fearmongering on your part.

a few are being looked at for alleged fraudulent soft applications (Muay thai ) etc, so there are non genuine ones around.

May I kindly ask after obtaining the DTV, do you need to show proof of having 500,000 THB in the bank every time you apply for an extension of stay?

If you apply for it inside Thailand... Yes must show proof of 500,000 Thai baht. And all of the requirements for the DTV visa you applied for to get it. That's WHY its Best not to extend inside Thailand. Leave Thailand and return to get the new 180 day stamp.

Sorry I got the question wrong. I was talking about the extension from leaving thailand and come back. If you do an extension in an immigration yes, but if you leave and come back, no. Which is why most people do it that way :)

thats wrong. you need a fresh proof of 500k baht equivalent when you want to do an extension.

If that’s the case, would it be possible to leave the country, for example travel to Laos or go abroad, and then not have to show the funds? Because it would be quite difficult for someone on a soft-skills DTV, like Muay Thai, who isn’t working

That was a relief. We were really worried about the DTV and the 500,000 baht requirement for each extension, but now we feel much better , thank you so much

Doing a border hop is the easiest and best way to get your 6 mths extension..

is it true that you need to show 500,000 baht every time for extension? Even you apply for soft skill or something?

TRUE... that's why it's BEST to get the New 180 day stamp by leaving and re-entry into Thailand.

if you do the extension inside of thailand then you need 500k baht proof. yes of course. thats why most people do border runs instead and just get a fresh entry stamp that way

if you apply for an extension you most certainly have to prove financials and some reports of having to prove the funds in a Thai bank!

well, if you don't do stupid stuff like putting a police sticker on a regular bike (like in your profile pic) then I believe you won't meet issues 🥴😂

check to see if you meet the requirements before applying, also if you apply for a 3-6 month soft option course, you could end up with a 6 month Multi entry tourist visa, which would be an expensive exercise. Do plenty of due diligence before applying

DTV can be applied only while the applicant is out of Thailand.

The form submission is online, while one can choose to do it themselves or with help of an agency.
