TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the number of times they can enter Thailand from Cambodia using a 30-day visa exemption after changing their passport. Comments clarify that travelers can use the visa-exempt entry for a maximum of two times per calendar year when entering by land, regardless of whether they switch passports. Additional advice suggests that those entering on a visa-exempt basis may have their stay reduced if they extend their visa later.

IF you don't BUY a tourist visa from a thai consulate when you're in another country BEFORE you come back to thailand AND if you enter and are stamped in for 30 days you are NOT on a tourist visa you are on a 30 day visa exempt entry

AND

As Robert pointed out to you, there is a limit of TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year <- no matter if you switch passports or not they have your previous entry history..

There is no limit on how many tourist visa a person can use. BUT Thai Consulates will one day put a red warning stamp next to the visa, that next time application can be denied. With a Tourist Visa you get 60 days of entry. You talk about 30 days, this will be the Visa Exempt Entry, entrance without a Visa. Depending on country of origin of your passport maximum twice a calendar year, see the list:

I don't work at the consulate, so I can not answer. But if the in the year you did not visit this consulate but others to stay inside Thailand I would say, you have a big chance to get denied a new tourist visa.

No, if you have no visa in your passport you get the square stamp with date of entry and Admitted until date stamped in your passport by Immigration.

thanks for your help. When I cross the boarder and return to Thailand I have to make an application for a VISA EXEMPT entry is that correct?
