I don't really get how many days are we supposed to type in? Since we have to leave and reenter every half year. What did you guys put in? That kinda confused me.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When filling out the visa application for Thailand, particularly regarding the duration of stay before reentry, different users suggest varying approaches. Some recommend entering any number of days for basic entry, while others advise putting a date that is 180 days from the initial entry to avoid complications. Another comment clarifies that you can extend your stay for another 180 days once per entry, eliminating the need for constant reentry every half year. Ultimately, it seems to be flexible based on individual circumstances.

I put 178days so they would not suggest other visas for me (and no, you dont have to re-enter every 180 days, you can extend for another 180 one time per entry)

If you are not leaving before the 180 day mark, then put in the date which will be 180 after entry

It really doesn’t matter - it is your first entry for the purpose of the visa - can be even 1 day
