TLDR : Answer Summary
To perform a Visa run in Laos, you will need to prepare the following documents: make an appointment with the embassy (no walk-ins accepted), bring passport photos, complete the required paperwork, present your passport, and have the necessary fee for the visa. Note that each embassy in Laos may have different requirements, so it's advisable to check their official websites for specific details.

Vientiane is appointment only. Savannakhet is walk in.

depends on which one he wants to go to or which one the company takes him to…IMHO it’s always better to have and not need than to need and not have…so I would make the appointment regardless

Tourist Visa: Single Entry THB 1,000 ( printed statement 3 month with latest balance THB 20,000) and

proof of accomodation (Rental Contract only). Flight Ticket out of country with proof of actual payment.

Do you happen to know if the flight ticket out of country for single entry tourist visa can be within 90 days instead of 60? (Because of a plan to extend another 30 days after the 60).

@Martina ********
it depends on the airline you’re taking, call them up and ask their requirements

@Jeremy *******
Ok. So it’s more so a requirement for the airline (to allow for check in/boarding) and not for the actual tourist visa submission?

I will check with my embassy, of course, just seeing if anyone has first hand and recent experience.

@Martina ********
first you need to make it to Thailand, after that go to Laos

Yes, I understand that. I was just asking in reference to the visa run into Laos. You mentioned that a flight ticket out of country was needed to apply for a single entry tourist visa. So, was just wondering if you had experience on if that had to be within 60 (the actual visa validity) or 90 days (to the point you can extend). I have experience with this in the past, but haven’t done a visa run to/application in Laos since Covid.

just do a Google search for fake airline tickets

it has to be out by the end of the visa extension

a company will help tremendously…but first make an appointment….

No walk-ins will be accepted in Vientiane. You need to book an appointment here:

Not sure about that in Savannakhet.

There are 2 embassies in Laos. Check their websites as they have different requirements for each one.
