how long did it take for you to get a wealthy ltr visa? did you have to leave and return ? any concerns with re-entry while pending.
Answer summary
The process of obtaining a Wealthy LTR visa can vary. Some users reported approval within 10 to 20 business days if the financial application is adequate. Others, like applicants for the Pensioner LTR visa, experienced a longer duration of about two months, due to paperwork and visits to the US Embassy and Thai visa agencies. It's possible to apply from within Thailand, and users mentioned that engaging an agent can help manage the paperwork. Concerns regarding re-entry while the application is pending were raised, although specifics were not provided in the comments.

I got a Pensioner LTR visa with the help of an agent as the paperwork seemed overwhelming. It still took a bit over two months, a trip to the US embassy in BKK, twice I think, but thankfully on the same trip to BKK. Then finding and paying an official translator. Then a trip back to BKK to the agency that issues the visas. It was not a short path and took a chunk of validating paperwork. The people at the US Embassy did what I needed after waiting in a Disneyland line. The people at the Thai agency were helpful. Still Disneyland line like waiting but at least there were chairs. Much of the waiting time between active times could have been nail biting time. l It took much patience and much focus on sabai sabai. All things happen on Thai time.
Steven Mussack thank you. very very helpful. i needed this to slow down expectations. tricky with now 30 days entry. where did you get insurance. axa won’t help me apply in line. i just get put into a quote only loop.
Eileen Stelladog My agent hooked me up with an English speaking Thai AXA agent. Did the purchase over the phone. Bought coverage to meet the visa minimum. At 72 it was about 28 k baht and has such high deductibles it will never really pay anything. I consider myself self insured. I suggest you look online for an English speaking Thai AXA broker. I.do not recall the name of mine but she is in Chiang Mai. Seemed I live in rural Khon Kaen and my agent was there. honest and helpful. You could try looking for her or someone like her in your area.
Jim Davis lol bc wealthy people are not resourceful and would rather pay someone to do everything? Wealthy people don’t use Facebook? Wealthy people are not on the internet. Ahhh yes.
You can apply online from anywhere. Including Thailand. And if your financials are application are good, you will have approval within 20 business days.
