TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing time for a Non-O retirement visa from the UK generally ranges from 5 to 16 working days, according to various experiences shared by applicants. Most responses indicate a turnaround of about 10 working days, with some reporting slightly shorter or longer times. It's noted that the exact duration can vary depending on any additional documentation requirements.

10 days. If like me, you don't submit the right documentation, it will be cancelled, with no explanation as to why

Peter H Bates Just commenting things like this which are clearly wrong does not help anyone. I would suggest unless you actually have experience of something yourself don’t comment.

Is there a time limit to use the visa? For example after the visa is issued, do I need to be in Thailand within a set period?

I applied for mine on October 11th last year and it was issued to me exactly 5 weeks after my application date.

I was starting to sweat because it only arrived 2 weeks before the date of my booked flight
