A tourist visa is valid for 90 days from the day the embassy issues it. So use that timing in deciding when to apply. It generally takes between 2-15 days for your application to be processed depending on the embassy.

the visa must be used within 90 days from the day it's issued. But even if you enter Thailand on day 90, you get stamped in for the full 60 days that a tourist visa entitles you to.Carl *******
