TLDR : Answer Summary
You can typically apply for an STV extension within 30 days before your current stay ends. Some immigration offices may allow requests up to 45 days prior. It's best to visit the immigration office one to two weeks before your STV expires to ensure you have all necessary documents.

Stop in to your local immigration office and ask for the list of requirements for the STV visa extension.

Usually you can get the STV extension within 30 days of your current permission to stay ending date ...some immigration offices say up to 45 days before... Others like you to come in during the week before. Best to go in at least one to two weeks before... Just in case something is missing with your extension application.
