How does revolut work, does it mitigate not having a thai bank account? I have a revolut account and notice I can have a thai baht account too... does this mean free cash withdrawals?
Answer summary
Revolut offers a solution for expats in Thailand by allowing users to hold a Thai baht account, which can help manage local transactions. While you can withdraw cash in Thailand, there are associated fees, with a flat ATM withdrawal fee charged for all foreign cards, including Revolut. Depending on your Revolut plan, you may have a limit of fee-free withdrawals each month, but you will always incur the ATM fee. Users have reported various advantages, such as instant transfers to Thai bank accounts and competitive exchange rates, making it a practical choice for managing funds abroad.

Get yourself a Charles Schwab or Fidelity checking account instead.
I have Revolut Ultra . Save me more than 2000 euro a year .
Mostly tru free unlimited fast track , lounges, some insurance , free VPN , daily intrest on my saving account that have no minimum and some atm fee free.
I transfer to my girlfriend her bankaccount and she get it to me , so no fee there.
There’s different tiers to free ATM withdrawals basee on your membership with Revolut. I have the Ultra which is around €60 per month, that gives me approx 65k thb per month fee free. Mind you still pay the 350THB flat ATM fee- that’s for every foreign card regardless of bank. So i usually withdraw the maximum amount the ATM lets me to minimize the damage of the fee. It’s the only fee, Revolut then charges me in THB and the exchange rate is only a few cents off of the one in Google.
Key perk of Revolut for me is the transfers- I’ve bought expnsive bikes and cars using Revolut’s transfer feature to a Thai bank account. The recipient receives the funds in seconds, even on weekends.
CleverRadish5177 66.459thb monthly without fees to be exact on the ultra plan. Plus a bunch of other benefits of course, could be a good deal for long term travelers.
