I want to buy a new Samsung Galaxy phone. But I am worried about how to transfer my mobile banking app without losing a day of my 800000. Can they do it in the Samsung shop or do I have to go to my bank after buying the phone?

Visa Extension, bank account and phone number are all interconnected.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The main concern is how to transfer a mobile banking app to a new Samsung Galaxy phone while ensuring that access to funds remains unchanged. Users clarified that switching phones does not affect bank balances; the app functions as an interface for managing those accounts. However, some banks may require a visit to a branch, especially for apps connected to a mobile number or specific authentication methods. Recommendations included checking with the bank before transferring apps and using reputable phone retailers to facilitate the transfer.

As other are saying, the app itself has impact on the sum or logging of money you have in your accounts.

It's sitting there regardless of your app or not. All the app will do is give you a interface to interact with the accounts.

Get the phone, and get the app transferred at the store.

If you get a new number, you will likely need to re-verify your account at a local bank branch.

My Bangkok Bank app just magically transferred over... I didn't have to install it or configure it... it was magic.

However, in the past, I have had to go to the branch and have them set-up the app, when the account was new.

I am surprised by some people. How do they even survive day to day life. Amazing.

If your bank blocks your new phone then you will have to inform them of your new phone's IMEI to use the app

The app has nothing to do with your phone. Just download the app into new phone and open it.

Just put of interest, how do you walk and breathe simultaneously? How will changing your phone affect your bank account? Insofar as transferring the mobile app will depend on the bank.... Changed phone a few weeks ago and downloaded the scb app, no problem...

Some of the Thai banks require you to go to the bank with passport and bank book to register the app on your new phone

Steve Fortefyve my SCB banking App is NOT connected to my phone number! When I am back in Europe, I switch to my European SIM-card. This changes absolutely nothing, because my SCB banking App just needs an internet connection, not a phone number . . Well, I realize some Thai banking Apps run on the number, when the person uses an OTP veryfication method. My SCB App does not do that

Shop transfer all on your phone but i guess you might have to register in again. Ask your bank. Phone them up now.

Your balance is not affected by your getting a new phone. Some bank mobile apps can be reinstalled on a new phone by you. Others may require a visit to your bank branch.

Robert Fyfe some people especially older people like this gentleman are not as familiar with the technology used nowadays. We didn’t have computers at school or cell phones, we didn’t even have fax machines. I remember telex machines, can you work a telex machine ? Have some respect and understanding.

So you can’t politely answer the gentleman’s question but feel that it’s necessary to be snide ? Maybe you should take up a hobby . Belittling others isn’t a leisure activity , it’s just plain rude.

Robert Fyfe I thought it was just me. What on Earth makes him think changing is phone is going to impact how long his funds are in his bank account. Quite extraordinary.
