How I applied for the DTV Soft Power and got approved without extra documents required (step-by-step).
Used Wise and Revolut. No seasoned funds (10 days only).
No agent whatsoever and applied in Hanoi.
First and foremost, thank you for everyone who shared their information here. Made my process much smoother.
Here's a condensed post for everyone else:
Timeline:
• applied on december 15
• status changed to pending on december 17
• approved on december 22
7 days total.
here’s exactly what I submitted and how I structured it.
1. Purpose of stay (soft power)
I applied under the soft power sports category (muay thai).
Included:
• official acceptance letter from muay thai gym in bangkok.
• proof of payment for a 6-month training program.
• training schedule.
• gym business registration and legal documents (this is provided by the gym itself)
2.Source of funds letter
Short, direct explanation stating:
• Funds come from foreign income
• Money is under my control
• I will not work in thailand
This went together with the financial proof document as the first page.
2.1 Financial proof
I used two accounts, each with a clear role.
Wise
• main account where I receive my client transfers.
• showed funds above the 500,000 THB requirement
• included balance confirmation and transaction history
• demonstrated foreign income source
• document showing I was the owner of the account.
Revolut
• daily spending account
• 6 months of transaction history
• showed normal living expenses, travel, food, transport
• Document showing I was the owner of the account.
Wise proved I meet the requirement.
Revolut proved I live like a real person.
And, yes, no seasoned funds. I only had 500k thb in my account for the past 10 days, and didnt have it in any point in the past 6 months.
4. Proof of location
I applied from Hanoi, so I made this very clear.
Included:
• Vietnam e-visa.
• Vietnam entry stamp.
• Flight ticket and boarding pass.
• Hotel booking confirmation.
• Time-stamped photo taken in Hanoi in front of hotel.
Plus a signed letter confirming I was physically present in Vietnam at the time of application and applying under the hanoi embassy’s jurisdiction as the first page.
How I packaged everything:
• Clear file names.
• Logical order.
• Every file with a 1-pager cover letter explaining what they will see on the respective file.
• Zero contradictions
• No unnecessary documents
Make it easy for a consular officer to understand my situation in seconds.
Result: approved in 7 days.
Extra details that might be important:
1. The last page of the application can "update" your details and therefore your last name can get mixed for the middle name. Fact check before uploading.
2. Never use auto-fill.
3. Write your accomodation name in english.
4. Put at least 10-14 days after applying as your departure date.
5. I used Ilovepdf to merge each respective file and document.
6. Make sure the gym is verified; language courses are susceptible to getting refused.
7. Sign every document sent out.
Thank you all. Hope to help 1000s with this post too.
